Weather Alerts

In the actuality of inclement weather the plans below outline the Midway University Protocol.

The information will be available to students, faculty and staff via:

the Midway University Portal at my.midway.edu
there will be a scrolling news ticker on the homepage of the website
on local television stations WLEX and WKYT
Phone, email and/or text messages (if you opt in) will be sent to registered contact numbers/emails from the LiveSafe system. If you have not downloaded (or can’t download) the LiveSafe app you can still get registered to receive alerts by emailing Ric Jacob at rjacob@midway.edu and he will update your information in the system.

Daytime Classes –weather/class related message will be posted by 6 AM*
Evening Classes: weather/class related message will be posted by 3 PM* on weekdays and 6:00 AM* on Saturdays (if applicable).

*Please realize that weather is unpredictable and in some cases there may be delays in getting notifications out at the published times. The University will continue to send out alerts and publish updates as the status changes.

PLAN A - 1 Hour Delay
FACULTY / STUDENTS	STAFF
Classes begin on a one hour delay. See chart below for exact class starts.	Campus offices open at 9:00AM.
	Employees with normal work hours beginning prior to 9:00AM are delayed to 9:00AM start.
	Employees designated as critical are exempt from above.

MWF Classes - 1 Hour Delay

All remaining classes follow the "regular" schedule.

Tu/Th Classes - 1 Hour Delay

PLAN B - 2 Hour Delay
FACULTY / STUDENTS	STAFF
Classes scheduled (as per regular schedule) to begin at 10:00 AM and after will be held at their regular time.	Campus offices open at 10:00AM.
All classes scheduled to begin prior to 10 AM are cancelled for the day.	Employees with normal work hours beginning prior to 10:00 AM are delayed to 10:00 AM start.
	Employees designated as critical are exempt from above.

UNIVERSITY CLOSING
FACULTY / STUDENTS	STAFF
Classes cancelled.	Campus offices closed for the day.
Faculty are not expected to come to campus for office hours or other activities.	Employees scheduled to work will be credited with eight (8) hours paid time.
All scheduled student activities, including both home and away athletic events, will be cancelled unless deemed otherwise by the President of the University or his/her designee.	Employees scheduled off for vacation or other activities will not receive the eight hour credit.
	Employees designated as critical are exempt from above.
