  • Midway University Welcomes New Health Sciences Dean

The Midway University Office of Academic Affairs is pleased to announce that Dr. Diane Chlebowy has joined Midway as Dean of the School of Health Sciences.

Dr. Chlebowy, who assumed her new role on March 1, earned her BSN, MSN (administration), MA (adult education), and PhD (nursing) degrees from The Ohio State University. Prior to her appointment at Midway, she held administrative appointments as director of undergraduate and graduate nursing programs at the University of Louisville. In addition, she served as an Executive Leadership Fellow in the American Association of Colleges of Nursing Leadership for Academic Nursing Programs.

“The leadership and experience that Dr. Chlebowy brings to the University will help us continue our long legacy as one of the leading nursing education programs in Kentucky and grow our entire health sciences offerings,” said Dr. Carrie Christensen, Interim Assistant Vice President, Academic Affairs, Midway University.

Earlier in her career, Dr. Chlebowy spent 10 years on faculty at the University of Kentucky. During her tenure in academia, she has enjoyed teaching students in the classroom and clinical area and has received recognition as an exceptional educator and mentor. She has been recognized nationally and internationally for her diabetes research expertise, has been published in numerous peer-reviewed journals, and has given presentations at local, regional, and national conferences. Dr. Chlebowy continues to provide leadership in professional and community organizations to advance the nursing profession.
