Staff

Resident Director

Founded in 1847, Midway College serves traditional undergraduate women in the Women’s College and both men and women in evening accelerated undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in the Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky amid rolling hills, horse farms, and the Bourbon Trail and is within driving distance of Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

We seek an individual who will direct and administer a comprehensive residence life program in one of the two all-female residence halls on campus.

Duties include staff selection, training and supervision of 3 to 4 Resident Assistants, student conduct, mediation, community development, and administrative/facilities management responsibilities normally associated with residential living. This includes facilitating and attending department meetings, weekly staff meetings, and individual one on one meetings. This position will collaborate with Student Affairs staff members and campus security to help provide a secure residential living environment. Night and weekend duty rotation is required. This position reports to the Director of Residence Life and the First-Year Experience.

This is a twelve month, live-in position; beginning February 1st, 2015, with a small stipend and an apartment, phone service, cable TV, Wi-Fi internet access, utilities and meals. Bachelor’s degree and Residence Life experience preferred.

Assistant Softball Coach

We are seeking applicants for a regular, part-time, 10-month Assistant Softball Coach position.

Founded in 1847, Midway College serves traditional undergraduate women in the Women’s College and both men and women in evening accelerated undergraduate and graduate programs. This position is responsible for supporting all aspects of a successful women’s softball program at the NAIA level. Primary responsibilities include assistance with recruiting, game assistance, practice planning and supervision, academic supervision, eligibility compliance, and driving of a fifteen passenger van.

Position requires a bachelor’s degree, coaching experience, at the college or high school level, and ability to coach and recruit skilled student-athletes.

Director, Residence Life & The First Year Experience

Founded in 1847, Midway College serves traditional undergraduate women in the Women’s College and both men and women in evening accelerated undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in the Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky amid rolling hills, horse farms, and the Bourbon Trail and is within driving distance of Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of the Women’s College, the director of residence life and the first year experience is responsible for providing comprehensive development, oversight and coordination for the residence life program, including supervision of 2 resident directors and 7 resident assistants, implementation of needs-based programming, serving as a disciplinary hearing officer, collaboration with other campus offices, etc. Further, the director plans and implements all aspects of the first-year experience, including selection and supervision of staff, communication with new students, and development of programming. Responsibilities also include supervision of the community programs coordinator, serving on campus committees, and collaboration with other student affairs staff members to plan and implement major campus programming events and to serve student needs through a wide variety of initiatives.

Required qualifications include: a master’s degree in college student personnel, higher education administration, or a closely related field, at least 3 years of professional residence life experience, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and a commitment to ingenuity within the framework of best practices. Professional experience with first-year experience or orientation programming is also strongly preferred. This is a full-time, 12-month position and requires evening and weekend availability.

Support of athletic department initiatives and, as needed, other team events are also required.

Position requires a bachelor’s degree, coaching experience, preferably at the college level, and demonstrated ability to coach and recruit skilled student-athletes.

Required start date is August 3, 2015.

Coordinator of Academic Advising

Founded in 1847, Midway College serves traditional undergraduate women in the Women’s College and both men and women in evening accelerated undergraduate and graduate programs. The main campus is located in the Bluegrass Region of Central Kentucky amid rolling hills, horse farms, and the Bourbon Trail and is within driving distance of Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

We seek an individual who will work with faculty and staff in academic advising (the College’s Quality Enhancement Plan area of emphasis).

Duties include coordinating the implementation of much of the College’s QEP (Quality Enhancement Plan), administering the online orientation course for new students, working with the QEP Leadership Team in managing the plan and assessments of the QEP, training and monitoring faculty in ‘developmental’ advising, and assisting with data collection and data analysis. This position includes facilitating and attending team meetings and serving as a back-up advisor during part of the summer.

This is a twelve-month position beginning July 1, 2015. Doctorate preferred, master’s degree required. Extensive student academic advising experience required, preferably at the college level. Preference will be given to candidates with data analysis credentials and/or experience.
