Midway College, founded in 1847 and affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), is the only Women's College in Kentucky and provides accelerated degree completion and graduate programs for both women and men through evening and online delivery. Committed to both the liberal arts and professional programs, the college offers majors leading to degrees at the associate and bachelors levels as well as graduate degree programs in business and education. Admissions Counselor: Adult and Evening Programs

The Office of Enrollment Services at Midway College seeks an innovative emerging educational professional to join us as Admissions Counselor. This is a full-time, 12 month position with benefits. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: delivering presentations to a diverse constituency, territory management, interviewing prospective non-traditional and graduate students, providing general counseling to new students regarding admission processes, academic programs, and financial aid, recommending admission decisions and assisting with on and off-campus recruiting events, .

Candidates must be able to work independently, work well with other units and groups across campus, at community colleges, and various community organizations. Duties include representing the college at various on and off-campus recruitment events, managing a recruitment territory, interviewing prospective students, processing applications for admission, and data entry related to these functions. Work related travel and irregular hours including some evening and weekend work is required.

Required:
• Bachelors degree from an accredited non-profit institution. Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong record of achievement and adaptability to change
• In-depth knowledge of Midway’s liberal arts mission, academic programs, extracurricular activities and educational outcomes
• Some weekend and evening hours
• Valid drivers license; driving record investigation is required
• Other duties as assigned

Strongly Preferred:
• 1-3 years related experience
• Strategic planning and experience in the area of social media and online networking in order to facilitate engagement with prospective students/families

Network Engineer

A Network Engineer is responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. This position performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets college and user satisfaction. A Network Engineer also provides direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations

Duties and responsibilities include but, are not limited to:
• Design, setup and configure complex switching environments
• Design, setup and configure complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the basics behind the Internet and its workings (DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP, VPN, Email Routing, SPAM, etc.)
• Configure and setup Firewalls, VPN Concentrators and Security appliances for access to vital business applications
• Design of multi-server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, WINS, Ether- Channel (Bonding), etc.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors to provide technical assistance and support
• Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Local Area Networking

Qualifications include: 4-5 years’ experience with configuring, installing and troubleshooting centralized network infrastructure such as routers, hubs and switches. Bachelor's degree is required preferably in Technology related field. Certifications in network design preferred.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Director, Student Development Center

Midway College seeks an energetic and visionary Director of its newly-created Student Development Center, which provides direct support services to undergraduate, graduate, in-seat, and online students. The Center’s mission is to integrate academic support and career counseling in order to enable students to succeed academically and enter the professions of their choice.

Founded in 1847, Midway College serves traditional undergraduate women in the Women’s College and both men and women in accelerated undergraduate and graduate programs and online programs. The College is located in the Bluegrass region of central Kentucky amid rolling hills, horse farms, and the Bourbon Trail and is within driving distance of Lexington, Louisville, and Cincinnati.

The Director must possess a passion for helping students develop to their full potential as well as the desire and ability to work directly with students and faculty members in devising strategies tailored to individual students’ needs. Collaborating with the Office of Admissions and the Retention Task Force in developing and implementing strategies for recruitment and retention is an important part of the Director’s responsibilities, as is making the Center the clearinghouse for Prior Learning Assessment (PLA), CLEP, and other such equivalencies.

Duties include:
Academic Support
• Developing and reviewing academic support programs and strategies for implementation and assessing their effectiveness.
• Hiring, training, and evaluating tutors and other staff.
• Creating and facilitating academic skills and study strategies workshops for students at a variety of levels.
• Providing academic counseling and monitoring conditionally accepted students.

Career Development
• Delivering individual career exploration and counseling sessions, small group advising, and large group presentations and workshops to students.
• Creating and conducting presentations to disseminate information on career opportunities for students.
• Developing and maintaining a database of internships available to students.
• Collaborating with faculty in the development of career counseling workshops.

Minimum Qualifications
Education: minimum of a master’s degree in an appropriate field; doctorate preferred. Experience: at least 3 years in higher education, preferably in student support services. Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working with students from diverse age groups, backgrounds, and cultures as well as evidence of inclusive conduct and multicultural skills in the workplace.
